Why Shenzhen?
Shenzhen is the first city in China to develop policies focused on building a "child-friendly city." Since 2015, it has been constructing policies and institutional support systems, along with a series of community development guidelines that cover areas such as communities, schools, libraries, hospitals, parks, and transportation systems.
Shenzhen is making significant efforts in four areas - policy-friendly, space-friendly, service-friendly, and participation-friendly - to promote the construction of a "child-friendly city." By maximising the activation of children's potential, it is also illuminating the future of the city.
